The page rank shown on your Google Toolbar is definitely not accurate. Recently I discovered this site browsing through endless SEO forums and it shows the live Pagerank from all the major Google IPs. Check it out for yourselves:

If you are true then you should not rely on your blog's page rank. It's showing 4 at the moment.

Besides, I agree that google is unfairly fair and fairly unfair with blogs and webs having content that is not liked by google's algorithm.

Page rank and web position are not always connected. Factors such as keywords and content still have a bigger effect.

If anyone wants to link to a high profile please go to International Directory

PageRank is more of a vanity thing. Where your site shows up in the search results is much more important. Google's new PageRank also takes into account how long your site has been up and when the registration expires - a quick way to bump your PR is to make sure your domain name is registered for at least three years.

Sergi - Links from quality relevant sites should help rankings. Stay on topic and monitor your link exchanges carefully. I've had a site go to PR4 after only a month or so. It means nothing much in the short term.

Most of your website have a very high page rank. My website is only 1 month old and I have a PR2. My question is: What website is very crucial to have a link from beside DMOZ and Yahoo?

Typically you see sites with a higher page rank above lower PR sites. However there are a lot of other factors that go into deciding who gets first in the rankings. When determining relevance, Google may look at a site about Boston that is a PR7 and has a link to a PR6 real estate page, but rank that below a site that is all about Boston Real Estate and only a PR 5. All in, PR seems to only be a gauge and nothing more.

Three phrases should be among the most common in our daily usage. They are: Thank you, I am grateful and I appreciate.

I agree that page rank doesn't actually mean that your page will get good rankings, but it does mean that you have an established site. I think one of the biggest factors in page rank is how long your page has been up.
