I agree…
What do you think of MLM approaches to real estate amd mortgages? How do you feel about adding mortgages to real estate–one stop shop?

I would feel awfully awkward if I were to try to pitch something to my clients. I think it is totally unprofessional.

I completely agree. I think that the real issue is that us agents are more gullible than the general population. I’ve seen many agents get involved with MLM and other marketing schemes to get rich quick, only to lose focus and eventually time and money.

The sad thing about MLM is that in order to make it in that business, a lot of other people have to fail. That is the only way the people at the top can get the big paychecks. Every MLM I’ve ever been in, there is always this over stated opportunity about how easy it is, and how much money you will be making in a short time. The truth is only a very few will make enough to support themselves, and they will do it using the money of other poor suckers who spend their money trying to get to the top. There are more honorable ways to make a living.

Couple of points. If MLM actually worked not only the entire planent earth will belong to grand dady of them all, they would be on their way to recruit members from other planets.

I get sick and tired of being recruied when on the job. Here is a true story that happened to me last week.

I have over 20 years experience and was showing property with my cleints (of over 10 years) and an agent from a “MLM” “real estate” company. As soon as I handed her my business card she told me in the presence of my clients that I should come and work for the company that she worked for.

My clients took a good look at her, took a look at me and told her that they came her to look at the property not to have their agent change company.

So I wonder, what is the objective of this ….. MLM real estate companies?

I had always heard the recruiting an indivual agent directly is not ethical/legal/good business.

What this poor soul did not realize is that I own the company that I work for.

So ot MLM,I’d say leave it for soap and shampoo!

I do not mind cross selling complimentry servcies such as real estate and mortgages or accounitng service and taxes but to cross sell into soap and toothpaste, I do not think so.

Lastly every mlm person that ever spoke ot me said that their plan only required 2 to 3 hours a week.

Thne I speak to somoene woh said that they joined and they are being told to go to every meeting and spned 10 to 20 hours a week. BUllS….

We have a regular job that we need to do to make money!!!

I agree that mortgage and real estate mlm is a good strategy and the time has come I am working on a proto type to submitt to my banker to make the whole thing come together

Bob, I have seen models that do that very thing , my model does not and will not take advantage of the associate
it will empower them with the best training they can possibly have.

Our Mission Statement is :” We will strive to have the most technologically advanced and most highly trained real estate professionals in our market place.

The new associate will reap the lionshare of the commission.

Our industry is suffering from mortgagae folks not knowing how real estate works and vice versa

bringing the 2 together will only provide a higher level of service for the consumer.
But theremust be safe guards for the consumer!

I disagree. It all depends on what company your working for. I know a company who actually pays very well on their hard work. I know of many folks who make a very good living at what they do. The question is can you do them a service? If you can save them money and head aches then yes. I am lucky to be with a company where my life has changed financially. I make a good living doing very little work.

Interesting blog…
Started marketing for a bulk buyer that pays marketing fees to help bring buyers for their properties. I got a condo in Florida at 10% discount. When I find people that know of potential buyers…I’ll get about 30k per.
Those other mlm gimmicks are crazy. Its good to develop a network, but they never pay you enough. I charge the corporation about 10-12% for providing the leads…thats off the gross sale. Don’t even need to be an agent. When my 3 buyers find 3 referrals I’ll get 270k…enough to pay off the condo they sold me!
